New life-sim game Paralives releasing tomorrow

New life-sim game Paralives will release on Steam tomorrow, May 25, 2026 as early access. It is an alternative choice to try beside The Sims 4 or inZOI. Create your own Parafolk and build the home where they can live, work, and perhaps settle down. 

Honestly, the early gameplay trailer is giving me The Sims 2 vibe but with the game being open-world.

What caught my attention the most is the developers' pledge. They pledge that they will never release paid DLCs: there will only be free updates! 

Naturally I would think that they're referring to the actual free updates and patches to the main game.  Although I'm curious if they're also pledging free expansion packs? The language is a bit unclear but no paid DLCs is already a good thing. That means they're looking to create a full game experience for all. At least sell the idea that the base game will be fully large enough to eventually support expansion packs.

There is an extensive list on what will be available upon Paralives' EA release on their official website. The developers are also saying that the EA will last approximately two years. Their dev log started in 2019, but they're a small team working on the game. 

Sometimes it's okay to start slow.

This view looks good to me.

I'm getting the game on when it releases as a show of support. Competition is good and I'm still bummed by the cancellation of Life By You. Sims 4 has become too convoluted chugging out new paid contents too fast. While inZOI has a complex feel like a pseudo CAD software game. Some of the things I like in Paralives are the flexible house building, cozy feel, and open-world setting. And then some things to watch out as upcoming content would be the seasons, travel, and over water gameplay. 

Paralives will be singleplayer and will not require online connection. It will release on Steam for PC and Mac.

Paralives announced its Early Access release!

Paralives announced that it will release early access on December 8, 2025. Paralives is an upcoming life sim game with a familiar feel yet its own charming art and color palette. It vibes with simplicity and a fresh look as a life sim game on the PC. Yet the game also features an intricate build and buy mode. In Paralives, you take care of your Parafolk settling down in a small town. There will only be one neighborhood town at launch. Although the developers remarked that more towns and neighborhood will follow. How to turn off Hip Lantern in Palworld

You can turn off your Hip Lantern in Palworld. That is you can toggle the Hip Lantern to three modes: always on, auto, or off.  Here's how to turn off your Hip Lantern: Hit [Tab] to open player your inventory. Select the Key Items tab. Right click the Hip Lantern and it will toggle between the three modes. If the item thumbnail is not highlighted, it will be off. Toggled the Hip Lantern to off with the thumbnail dark.
